An 11-year-old Belgian boy has completed a Bachelor of Physics from the University of Antwerp.
Laurent Simons finished the university degree, which normally takes three years, in one year.
The Belgium-Dutch resident completed a gymnasium degree in Sint-Jozef Humaniora in Bruges in 18 months at the age of eight.

The young prodigy's next goal is to complete a master's degree in Physics at the Flemish University. He said "immortality" is his goal.
"I've already completed a few courses," he told Dutch published NU.
"I want to eventually be able to replace as many parts of the body as possible with counterfeit organs."

Laurent made headlines two years ago after he left a university court following a dispute over his graduation date.
The boy was due to finish his studies in electrical engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands in December 2019.
A dispute between the university and the family saw the boy terminate his studies.
